The website for the Sanctuary of Santa Rita de Extrema was developed as a volunteer project in collaboration with the parish of Santa Rita, located in the city of Extrema. This project aimed to create an informative and engaging platform for the Catholic community, highlighting events, news, and the history of the sanctuary.
Using a fully customized approach with the WordPress CMS, technologies such as JavaScript, PHP, Bootstrap, Gulp, and SASS were employed to ensure efficient performance and a responsive design. The site was also configured with essential integrations, including Google Analytics for traffic monitoring and Google Calendar for event display. A unique feature of the site is the virtual candle page, which allows visitors to light candles and leave prayer requests through a simple form.
The design and content of the site were created using material provided by the parish, including images and texts that capture the essence and tradition of the sanctuary. This project not only offered an opportunity to apply technical skills for the benefit of the community but also provided a rewarding experience in terms of learning and personal growth.
